Newcastle Falcons have made a change to their side for the upcoming Premiership match on Friday which will see them face Sale Sharks. Scott Lawson should be playing in the hooker position – with the kind of experience he has, Scott has been chosen as a replacement for Kyle Cooper.
The side and the team remain the same otherwise, being the same composition that was able to defeat the Worcester Warriors with a score of 35-8. Cooper was the man of the match, then but this time he would be missing out the match as he is suffering from a shoulder injury.
Vereniki Goneva should also be back on the bench who had become the best player last season. He has missed out the season opener games as he suffers from a calf problem.
Dean Richards is the director of the team and he hopes that the promising start that the team has this season will be something that they will be able to build upon. Whilst ticket sales have been slow so far this season, there is a growing demand to be there in the stadium according to this website which sells tickets to all Premiership Rugby matches.
He admits that the boys had performed well in the match they played against Worcester and the five points they were awarded was just reward. The team has performed with discipline and the players had performed as was expected of them. There had not been many changes introduced, but the team worked efficiently. The other good thing was that the team was able to use the existing team with only a new member brought on board. That shows the quality and dedication of the team and it is a good thing that the old team is able to function.
The quality of performance has improved and that is something he is proud of. Richards hopes that the bonus that they received will act as a springboard and bring more victories. He admits that the Friday game against Sale will be tough and he is hopeful that the team will do their best.
